Joe Cullen, Steve Beaton, Vincent Van der Voort and Harry Ward all secured spots at next weekend’s World Series Finals on Friday Afternoon by coming through the Tour Card Holders Qualifier.
Unfortunately, the regular World Series tour was unable to take place this year due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, but the Finals will still go ahead between the 18th and 20th September in Salzburg, Austria. The Qualifier for the event took place at H+ Hotel Wiesbaden in Niedernhausen, Germany and took place on the eve of the start of PDC Autumn Series.

Steve Beaton, who has competed in the event twice before in 2016 and 2018, started his run with an impressive 5-2 win over Dirk Van Duijvenbode, who was in good form at the start of 2020 before the pandemic began, before wins over Andy Hamilton and Steve Lennon to set up a decider against a dangerous opponent in Gabriel Clemens. Beaton saw him off 5-3 with the pair averaging over 96 and to secure qualification for the 3rd time in 5 years since the event began.

He then saw off Marko Kantele in a last leg decider before defeating 2x BDO World Champion Scott Waites 5-2 to book his spot in the decider against Latvia’s Madars Razma. At that stage, he saw him off 5-3 to secure a spot at the World Series finals for the 1st time in his career.
