‘SNAKEBITE’ obliterates Van Gerwen to secure European Tour hat-trick in 2017!

Peter Wright picked up his third European Tour win of 2017 as he disposed of the world number one Michael van Gerwen 6-0 in a sensational performance.

‘Snakebite’ Peter Wright was crowned the European Grand Prix champion in spectacular style as he dismantled the World number one in a 6-0 whitewash win in the final. Snakebite stated his intent early on as he fired in an 11-dart leg to take the opening leg. He followed that with a 14-darter as he fired in D16. He raced into a 3-0 lead in extraordinary circumstances as he fired in a terrific 161 finish. He then completed the whitewash by taking the last three legs in 18,14 and another 14-darter in the last leg to complete a terrific win over Van Gerwen as he laid a marker down to the rest of the competition as he wins his third European Tour of 2017 out of four events and his second win over Van Gerwen in a final in 2017. In the quarter-finals earlier in the evening he was dominant in seeing off Jan Dekker 6-2, he then produced another fine display as he seen off the in-form Dutchman Jelle Klaasen 6-3 with a 99.42 average as he hit three maximums and most importantly he kept up his unbelievable finishing and he hit 6/13 on the doubles.
