Both players left 170 after only 9 darts in the 14th leg. But with Price being 6-7 adrift it was urgently needed. ‘The Iceman’ hit 130 to leave tops and give Wright the opportunity he needed, Snakebite did not prove toothless!

The reigning World Champion had come through a tough field on a day that included a large number of 100+ averages and strong runs from several lower ranked players.

Wright had defeated South African Devon Peterson in the Semi Final after dismissing Glen Durrant, 6-1, the round before.

Price meanwhile had overcome Steve Lennon and Willie O’ Conner at the same stages.

New Tour Card holder Damon Heta again started strongly recoding averages over 105 before bumping into Price in Rd.3. Irish an Lennon recorded the highest average of the day, hitting over 110 in the early rounds.

Players Championship 6 will take place from the same venue tomorrow.
