Young Jordan Smith with a 25.04 average
– achieved a 9-darter – well a 9 dart 301 – in his game against Daniel Ovens,
his winning leg was 97, 140, 64gs. Two youngsters from two great dads, Dave
Smith and Denis Ovens! Viva la darts!
In the ‘Young at Heart’ it was Dorset’s
Will Shergold who went past the winning post after beating Donny Adams 2-1; Ross
Smith from Kent won the youth section 2-1 against David Honey.
‘Two Has Beens and a Newcombe’ was the
name of the Triples winners, Lesley Newcombe, Lance Thompson and Steve Hine.
They beat ‘Its About Time We Won’ Donna and Wayne Mardle and Tommy Wilson.
Peter Manley was again a winner at the
weekend when pairing up with Dee Bateman, they won the Mixed Doubles against Wes
Newton and Michelle Jackson.

Manley’s average was 28.44 when beating Chris Mason 5-3 – a close game with

up a 26.46 average and included a maximum against Sara Brent in the Ladies

& Vauxhall Holiday Park Norfolk Mens Singles
November 2005
PETER MANLEY (Cumbria) won the JR & Vauxhall
Holiday Park Norfolk Mens Singles event after
beating Chris Mason (Ireland) 5-3.
Peter had been 2-0 down after Chris had handed
out 15 and 18 dart legs but fought back to take
the next three legs in succession - the fourth
leg taken with a 115 shot out.
The sixth leg saw Mason lead off with a maximum
and followed this with a 140 - eventually taking
the leg with another 15 darter.
The last two legs went Peter's way as he put
forward 16 and 15 dart legs to take the
Championship. Averages: P Manley 28.44 -
Chris Mason 29.98.
Peter's semi-final game had been against Ian
Turner (Essex) where he had again been two legs
down before picking up the last four legs for
the game - not a game that had set the house on
fire with averages coming out at 22.79 for Peter
and Ian on 22.15
What must have been the best game of the night
came from Chris Mason in his semi-final game
against Andy Callaby (Cambs). He dropped
only one leg to take the match 4-1 with winning
legs taken in 16, 14, 14 and 17 darts!
Average for Chris was 32.63 with Andy on
27.75.
Stalwart John Magowan from Ireland had come
through the ranks with ease but failed to beat
Peter Manley in the quarter finals.
